Cluster and quartet correlations in nuclei

Clustering, i. e., molecule-like configuration, and quarteting, i. e., shell-like four-nucleon configuration, are two important correlations in nuclei. We apply symmetry-based models for the description of both of them. A special symmetry: the multichannel dynamical symmetry connects the two phenomena, and even has a strong predictive power.
